The Opportunity

Your spice section is full of good products. Customers respect it. They also walk past it — because most spice shopping is replacement shopping. A jar runs out, a jar gets bought, and the section waits for the next empty jar.

Emberloft was built to change what that shelf is for. Our blends don't just season food — each one teaches the cook something about how flavor works: when to add it, what it will do in the pan, what they'll notice on the plate.

A customer who learns something from a jar doesn't come back when it's empty. They come back because they're curious what the next one will teach them.

That turns a replacement category into a destination.

The Moment That Sells the Line

Twenty seconds in a pan

Amber Root is our foundation blend — warm root spice and savory depth, designed to go in before anything else. The first thing a customer does with it is what we call the twenty-second test.

The kitchen smells like a dish is already underway — before the onions, before anything else touches the pan. The spices bloom and bind to the fat, so the flavor spreads through everything that follows instead of sitting on the surface. The soup tastes finished earlier. The roasted vegetables taste seasoned all the way through, not coated.

That's the moment a customer becomes a repeat customer. They didn't buy a flavor — they watched their own cooking change. And there are nine more blends, each built around a different moment like this one.

The Twenty-Second Test

  1. 1Warm a little oil.
  2. 2Add a spoonful of Amber Root.
  3. 3Stir for twenty seconds.

Amber Root — the blend every conversation starts with.

Evidence

What we've seen at market

Emberloft sells face-to-face at Portland-area farmers markets, anchored at Beaverton. Two things happen there consistently, and both matter to a buyer.

When people engage, they buy.

Customers who stop and hear what a blend does convert at a rate that has genuinely surprised us. The product doesn’t need discounting or hard-selling — it needs thirty seconds of explanation. That’s exactly what a staff guide and a shelf talker deliver on your floor.

They come back to report.

Week after week, customers return to the booth — not to buy, at first, but to tell us what they cooked. The lentil soup. The sheet-pan vegetables. Then they buy the next blend. That’s the repurchase cycle running in public.

What This Means for Your Section

Emberloft is an addition to your spice section, not a replacement for anything in it. A shelf holding excellent single-origin spices, heritage blends, and an educational line is stronger than any of them alone — a customer who learns why blooming works brings that curiosity to every product around ours. And your staff get a story to tell, not just a product to point at.

A staff tasting with the founder

When your opening order lands, Dave spends an hour with your counter staff, tasting the line and walking through what each blend does in the pan.

Start the Conversation

Bring us in for a tasting

If the line feels right for your shelf, reach out. We'll bring jars to taste, talk through your customers and your section, and build an opening order that fits. A tasting at your counter, with jars and no pressure — then a staff hour with Dave when the opening order lands.

We'll send your wholesale pricing sheet with the reply. No list, no drip campaign.
